About Us

Structured directory of public Telegram communities, organized by topic, country and language. Continuously updated since 2015.

Who we are

We are an international team of Telegram researchers and data engineers with a decade of continuous work in this space. We maintain a low public profile by design — our focus is on the infrastructure and data, not on personal visibility.

How it started

Before Telegram, we were running large-scale messaging communities on WhatsApp. When Telegram introduced supergroups and a proper moderation architecture, the technical differentiation from other messaging platforms was clear. That early operational involvement produced structured data on Telegram communities that has been maintained and extended ever since.

That operational database became the first version of this directory. As the dataset grew and use cases diversified, we built Teleteg — a dedicated search engine across the Telegram ecosystem — as the next layer.

Our data

Our collection systems have processed a significant volume of Telegram groups and channels over the years. The majority does not meet publication threshold — inactive accounts, short-lived groups, and communities below minimum size are filtered at the collection layer. What is published here represents communities that meet defined quality criteria: minimum member count, public accessibility without invitation, and active status.

Automated filtering establishes a baseline. Community reviews and ratings provide the qualitative layer — users with direct experience of a community are better positioned to assess it than any automated system. The review infrastructure exists for that reason.

All data shown is sourced from public Telegram content. No private messages, user data, or non-public information is stored. AI-generated summaries are produced using MiniMax M2.7 and GPT models and are editorially distinct from original channel content.

Why this directory exists

Telegram's native discovery tooling is limited by design. There is no comprehensive, structured public index of what exists on the platform. This directory provides that reference layer — communities indexed by topic, country and language, with user reviews and verification mechanisms.

Channel owners can claim and maintain their listing. Members can submit reviews and flag issues. The planned community voting layer extends this further — distributing quality assessment across the user base rather than relying solely on automated signals.

What's next

The dataset accumulated over a decade of collection has applications beyond directory publishing. We are developing a structured API layer for programmatic access — intended for researchers, institutional clients, and AI systems requiring structured Telegram data at scale. The next product direction moves into content intelligence and large-scale community analysis. Further details will be published when the product is ready.
